What does I000 mean on a Driving Licence?

At P F Spare Insurance Brokers, particularly when arranging motor fleet and motor trade insurance, we deal with many driving licences which occasionally contain endorsements for offences such as speeding. Part of our role, in conjunction with our insurance partners, is to make sure that we are familiar with the wide array of codes used to denote driving licence endorsements.

The majority of these codes can be found widely online. What, though, about the mysterious code I000? The code I000, from our experience, appears when a driver incurs multiple convictions arising from the same single incident. It is listed under “Other” and has from time to time confused proposers as to what it means. Quite simply, I000 can be defined as “No Separate Penalty” (Source: DVLA).

We hope that this information is helpful to drivers, motor traders and fleet operators who find this code on a driving licence. You can also feel confident when placing your business with P F Spare Insurance Brokers that you dealing with an organisation with a keen eye for detail. If you would like to speak to us about your motor trade and/or fleet requirements, please contact us.
